Our History
Departments of the Congregation
i) The Sunday School Department of the church is also doing worthwhile services among the children. Our Sunday school is the Best Sunday School in the Trivandrum West Section of the AG for many years and won Mrs. & Pastor A.C.Samuel Memorial Rolling Trophy. We have also become the best Sunday School in the Malayalam District in few occasions. We have a group of dedicated teachers to cater to the needs of the children. Every year during the summer vacation we organize Vacation Bible School (VBS) It a festival and celebration of the children. We also organize VBS in our branch Sunday School at Kovalam.
ii) The Christ’s Ambassadors (CA) cater to the spiritual needs of the young people; they carry on evangelical outreach programmes in the suburbs. They also organize youth camps, whole night prayer meetings with the intention to attract the youth take a decision for Christ even at an early age.
iii) The Women’s Missionary Council (WMC) provides strong prayer support to all the multifarious activities of the church. They also organize prayer meetings on every Wednesday, encourage the newcomers to be in firm faith, visit the sick and extending support to the needy. Apart from these, they extend support to deserving widows and new churches.
iv) The Missions Department was constituted as directed by the Malayalam District Council in the year 2000. One representative each from the church committee, Sunday School, CA and WMC under the leadership of the Pastor was the structure of the Missions Committee. Recently we have reconstituted the committee with inclusion of few more members. The Missions Department is a catalyst to the missionary/evangelical activities. They organize tract distribution programmes every month. Students of Bible Seminary from the church were given monthly financial support, and later on when they start working in any of the regions, again they were given financial support to continue the work. Mission offering and home-box collection are prime sources of income of this department.
Apart from these departments, we have (v) Believers Welfare Society registered under the Societies Act. We help the poor and needy in the church by offering one time education assistance to students in the beginning of every academic year. Monetary help to the marriages, and in the event of hospitalization of the poor and the needy were also undertaken by the Society.
